Bloemfontein hosts its first-ever National Final as Delron Davids earns his spot to represent South Africa on the world stage

Bloemfontein, 28 March 2026  Delron Davids (26), from Cape Town, has been crowned the Red Bull Dance Your Style South Africa 2026 National Champion, defeating Louie-V in an intense and hard-fought final at Old Grey, Bloemfontein.

The victory caps an unforgettable evening that saw 16 of South Africa’s best freestyle dancers go head-to-head in the competition’s signature 1-on-1 format — no judges, no choreography, and no pre-selected music.

“I just want to thank God for this win, I hope I will be able to represent South Africa well in Switzerland. I lost my first National Finals, and that haunted me, so when I was preparing for this one I really was working hard and thinking of ways to make sure I win this time,” Delron shared, after being announced the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Final winner.

A Night Bloemfontein Won’t Forget

Hosting the National Final for the very first time, Bloemfontein showed up. From the moment the battles kicked off, the venue was filled with constant noise, movement and reaction. Cheers, chants and real-time responses to every musical switch, surprise move and upset result. The crowd-voting format heightened this even further, giving attendees a direct stake in the outcome and turning every round into a collective decision moment.

The National Finals were elevated by an electrifying lineup of performances that celebrated both local talent and rising stars. Bloemfontein’s own Stallionair and the dynamic duo Stino Le Thwenny brought undeniable energy to the stage, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. They were joined by crowd favourites Cowboii, DJ Tshegu and Justin99, whose sets kept the audience fully engaged and on their feet. Adding a powerful artistic dimension to the evening, a standout dance piece by Dance Your Style alumni delivered a visually captivating moment that highlighted the creativity and depth of the dance community.

The road to the final was hard-fought. Defending champion Mason “Beasty” Booysen who won the 2024 title on home soil in Gqeberha before representing South Africa in Mumbai returned to the national stage as a strong contender, adding a compelling narrative to the competition, although the 2026 final saw a new wave of talent challenge for the title.

“It was a tough competition between Delron and I, I tried my best, but we could only have 1 winner. The crowd was amazing, they cheered and supported us throughout our battles and made it fun and easy for us to feel comfortable on stage, I wish Delron all the best for the World Finals,” Louie-V shared after being defeated by Delron.

One Ticket. One Stage. The World Awaits.

Delron Davids will now represent South Africa at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final, Switzerland, Zurich on the 24th of October 2026, where national champions from across the globe converge for the ultimate 1-on-1 freestyle showdown.

“I am looking forward to the World Finals in Switzerland, I would like to show the world what South Africa I made of, and I hope my training will prepare me for the world!” Delron added.
