
Likhwithemba Booi, affectionately known as Likhey Booi, is making waves in the entertainment industry as a multifaceted talent.

Likhey’s passion for music ignited during his time at Seventh Day Primary School, where he took the initiative to form his own music group.
This early venture laid the foundation for what would become a remarkable career. In 2019, at the tender age of 15, he caught the attention of American actress Taraji P. Henson after she shared a video of him singing “Ndikhethe Wena” by Ami Faku on her Instagram.
The video not only showcased his vocal talent but also featured prominent figures in the South African music scene, including music producer DJ Maphorisa and rapper Cassper Nyovest.
DJ Maphorisa was so impressed that he offered to sign Likhey, propelling him further into the spotlight.
Following this breakthrough, Likhey collaborated with award-winning artist Donald on the track “Sthandwa,” further solidifying his place in the industry.
His live performances have been nothing short of spectacular; he has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Samthing Soweto and Ntsika.
Notably, he performed at the Ebubeleni Festival in 2019, captivating an audience of 20,000 people. In 2020, he was invited to perform with an orchestra at RMB Starlight Classics, showcasing his versatility and appeal.
In December 2021, Likhey released his highly anticipated single “Bambelela,” produced by Christer Kobedi, known for his work with Amanda Black. This release marked another milestone in his burgeoning music career.
Recently, Likhey expanded his artistic repertoire by joining the cast of “Gqheberha the Empire,” where he portrays Sivuyile, the long-lost son of Msimelelo.
This role has allowed him to explore new dimensions of his talent and connect with audiences in a different way.
