MISS SOUTH AFRICA FINALISTS JOIN IN AS SOUTH AFRICANS CELEBRATE A NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

Youth-centred reflection, gratitude and purpose anchor Miss SA’s participation in partnership

with the Motsepe Foundation

The Miss South Africa Organisation announces that the Miss SA Class of 2025 will take part
in the National Day of Prayer (NDP), joining the nation in a collective moment of gratitude,
unity and faith.
On Sunday, 30 November, the NDP will bring together 35 of the largest Religious and Faith-
Based organisations in South Africa, a key objective being to unite people from different
racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds in Africa and worldwide.
The Miss SA finalists will join kings, queens, traditional leaders, government and business
leaders, politicians, community-based organisations and more than 100 000 South African
from all walks of life on this day.
The finalists participation marks a significant shift in the direction of the New Era entered into
by the Organisation, which is centred on youth, women and children, and delivered through
its flagship youth-empowerment mandate, Empower Youth Africa (EYA).
With the support of the Motsepe Foundation, the finalists will use this national moment to
amplify messages of intention and purpose, bringing the message of hope to young South
Africans.
In keeping with the spirit of the new era of Miss SA, this mission extends beyond the
titleholder and runner-up to include the entire Top 9. This ushers in a new mandate where
each of the nine finalists is a purpose-driven ambassador, contributing meaningfully to
uplifting, inspiring and empowering South Africa and the continent.
Patron and Chairman of the Miss South Africa Organisation, Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe said:
“The National Day of Prayer is a moment for our country to pause and reconnect with
purpose. The Miss SA finalists are young leaders who reflect the courage, resilience and
optimism of South Africa’s youth.”
Dr Moloi-Motsepe added: “The ladies goal is to inspire unity across beliefs, backgrounds, and
circumstances through a message of gratitude, faith, hope, grounding, emotional renewal,
protection, guidance, and intention-setting for 2025 and beyond.”
These sentiments were echoed by the reigning Miss South Africa 2025, Qhawekazi Mazaleni
who said: “I am excited about this event. This year has been a blessing. I have seen first-
hand what remaining positive, while relentlessly throwing myself into the work needed to
accomplish what I have set out to do, can achieve. Just imagine what we, as a country united
in purpose, can accomplish together.”
The Miss SA New Era is about purposeful leadership. Each young woman in the Top 9 enters
the NDP as an active contributor to the national call for unity, spiritual grounding and renewal.
