Johannesburg, Friday, 14 November 2025 – Skyla Tylaa steps back into the spotlight with Vele Uyena (Risk It All), a heavyweight collaboration featuring JAZZWRLDThukuthelaElaine and Solaariss. After breaking onto the release scene earlier this year with her hit single Bombshell (now sitting at over 3.5 million streams)Skyla returns with a track that’s already club-tested and road-ready. She’s been sneaking it into her sets all year as a secret weapon and the release unites a seriously stacked lineup.

South African producer JAZZWRLD, the mind behind Isaka (6 am), teams up once again with Thukuthela, both continuing the unstoppable run that’s kept them high on the charts all year. Elaine glides across the beat with her signature velvet vocals, while Solaariss brings his unmistakable sax energy, marking his first official studio collab with Skyla after years of touring the world together and delivering highlight moments night after night. Vele Uyena (Risk It All) is Skyla Tylaa leveling up, bridging continents, and pushing her sound fully into the global lane.

At 24, Skyla Tylaa is moving at the speed of a cultural shift. Her sets are pure energy, threading Amapiano’s deep grooves through a wider constellation of Afro-electronic sounds. Born and raised between Kennington and Vauxhall in South East London, she grew up in a household where music wasn’t just background noise but a daily ritual. Funky House, UKG, old-school RnB and Reggae spilled out of every room, shaping the instincts she now brings to the booth. As one of seven siblings, Skyla found early inspiration close to home through her sister Jada, the powerhouse music manager behind artists like Akon and Wizkid.

She cycled through instruments growing up, dipping into trumpet, violin, flute and guitar, before realizing she was chasing something bigger than technique. With a growing hunger for performance, she trained at both the BRIT School and the Sylvia Young Theatre School, refining the stage presence that would later define her DJ career. But everything clicked at 21, during a trip to Ghana, when she stepped into Wizkid’s recording studio and heard Amapiano in its rawest form. It was a spark. Unconventional to most, iconic mentors like DJ Tunez, Maphorisa, Uncle Vinny and Major League DJz helped shape her craft, pushing her deeper into the culture.

Skyla’s breakout moment arrived in 2023 when she opened on Wizkid’s Made in Lagos tour, an intense trial by fire that launched her onto the global stage. Since then, Skyla has been in constant motion: UK clubs, New York basements, European open-airs, African mega-stages and Australia’s festival circuit. She’s torn through Big Smoke, Afronation, Wireless, Piano People and Promiseland, and packed out headline shows in London, Nigeria and Ghana. Industry eyes have locked onto her rise.

Mixmag named her one of 2024’s Breakthrough DJs of the Year, and Rihanna tapped her to open in Los Angeles and soundtrack the London launch of Fenty x Puma. Gracing the cover of Hunger in a shoot by the legendary Rankin, she’s also earned championing support from 10 Magazine, Wonderland, Dazed, OkayAfrica, Trench, and many more. Not forgetting other A listers including Drake and Rema who have called on Skyla to get the party started. Yet for all the momentum, Skyla keeps her focus on the craft itself, chasing connection over spectacle.

About Elaine

Elaine is a South African RnB / trap soul singer and songwriter. Her music is inspired mostly by her experiences, and the experiences of those she loves. Being a hopeless romantic, Elaine’s sound is a mixture of trap soul beats and catchy lyrics with soothing and mellow tones. Her passion for music dates back to the tender age of 6, the same age she started singing in her school choir, and the first time she sang a solo in front of an audience. Her taste in music has since developed and evolved from choral music to the soothing, comforting, upbeat and warm tones of RnB and trap soul.

About Solaariss

Emerging from the dynamic and diverse music scene of South London, Solaariss is a multi-faceted artist, producer and saxophonist who has quickly made a name for himself with his exceptional versatility fusing together an eclectic blend of his life’s journey and diverse influences. Solaariss captivates audiences with his unique blend of Alternative RnB Fusion, creating an emotive and unforgettable musical experience. A true instrumentalist, he is particularly known for his skillful saxophone performances. Solaariss’s sound is an amalgamation of deeply rooted afrobeat rhythms, classical undertones, and technical intricacies of jazz, all of which respectively reflect his cultural heritage, orchestral upbringing and immersion in London’s vibrant jazz scene. Solaariss’s vocal style is distinct and hard to compare, characterized by a laid-back, uncut tone that Brasstracks’ Ivan Jackson describes as “mysterious.” Solaariss’s unique rhythmic and melodic flow transforms his voice into a ‘second saxophone,’ adding an extra layer of depth and texture to his performances. Solaariss is making waves in the music industry through collaborations with some of the most prominent names in contemporary music. He has worked alongside J HUS, Wizkid, Davido, Ama Lou, Lex Amor, and many others, showcasing his musical prowess and ability to seamlessly integrate with a variety of styles. Recently, he has taken the Amapiano world by storm, gracing the largest stages globally, including Afronation, and this has been showcased more recently through his partnership with international DJ Skyla Tylaa.
