Thando Zide Premieres Captivating Visualizer for New Single “Break”

Following two sold-out shows at Untitled Basement, the South African singer-songwriter continues to carve out a distinct sonic and visual identity with her latest release

Johannesburg, Monday, 4 August 2025 – Rising South African artist Thando Zide has released the official visualizer for her latest single, Break  – a poignant and emotionally layered track that now comes to life through a captivating visual companion.

Directed with an intentionally stripped-back approach, the visualizer places Thando in a raw, contemplative setting that mirrors the song’s themes of heartbreak, release, and emotional isolation. It’s a subtle yet powerful visual statement that amplifies the mood and message behind the single.

“This visualizer is about stillness and survival,” says Thando. “I wanted it to feel like the moment after the chaos – where you’re sitting with everything that’s left behind.”

Released in June, Break  showcases Thando’s signature blend of soulful vocals, raw production, and emotionally honest songwriting. The visualizer adds new depth to the single, offering fans a glimpse into the intimate emotional space from which the song was born.

The debut of the visualizer comes on the heels of two sold-out solo shows at Johannesburg’s Untitled Basement on 1st and 9th August, the latter of which sold out in just 16 minutes – affirming the rising demand for Thando’s live performances. She’s also been expanding her presence as a feature artist, with recent appearances on  Jabulile  Majola’s  Isineke  and  PSILK’s With  You  – collaborations that highlight her ability to elevate and deepen the emotional impact of every track she’s on.

The visual is the latest in a series of carefully crafted artistic moves from Thando, as she continues to build momentum and establish herself as a distinct voice in South Africa’s alternative R&B and afro-soul landscape.
