We are proud to celebrate yet another milestone moment for WoodBlock DJs, who continue to carry the South African flag to new heights with their artistry, innovation, and collaboration.
The powerhouse duo has officially been nominated at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) for Remix of the Yearwith their groundbreaking “Skuta Baba Remix,” which brought together the dynamic voices of Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, Buzzi Lee, Tony Dayimane, Kane Keid, Mvelost, and Set Off. Their impact, however, stretches beyond national borders. On the continental stage, at the prestigious All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMAs), WoodBlock DJs are also recognized with two major nominations: Producer of the Year and Best African DJ.
These nominations are a testament to their relentless work ethic, boundary-pushing creativity, and the undeniable cultural force of Skuta Baba. More than just a remix, the record has become a unifying anthem, a celebration of collaboration, diversity, and the evolving sound of South Africa.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the artists who made this collaboration unforgettable; Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, Buzzi Lee, Tony Dayimane, Kane Keid, Mvelost, and Set Off, and to the fans whose passion continues to drive this movement forward. Special appreciation also goes to Universal Music Group for their licensing partnership and unwavering belief in the vision, and to Mr. Xolani Majozi of SoldOut Media for his leadership in steering the project with excellence.
“This is more than a nomination, it’s a celebration of the sound, culture, and community that South African music represents,” said the duo. “We are honoured to stand alongside such incredible artists and to keep telling our story on bigger stages.”
This moment is not just a win for WoodBlock DJs, it is a win for South Africa, for collaboration, and for African music on the global stage.
